SOCIAL GATHERING WITH LIGHTHOUSE ART, PHOTOS & VIDEO
The Cultural Arts Committee of the City of Pompano Beach, coordinated
by Marcia Hirschy, local artist, is celebrating the 2008 Centennial
of the City with monthly Fine Arts Exhibits at the Herb Skolnick
Community Center & E Pat Larkins Community Center. The art theme
is the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse and/or its grounds, Keepers’ cottages,
and Barefoot Mailman statue. The framed artwork and photographs will
be on display during the month of August at these centers. There
will be a social gathering with light refreshments, meet some of
the artists, and a PowerPoint video of “Boat ride & tour of the
Hillsboro Lighthouse including a climb to the top” presented by members
of Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society. The public is invited
to these free gatherings at all of these modern centers. The schedule
is:
Sat. Aug. 2nd, 11:00-2:30pm at Emma Lou Olson Center, 1800 NE 6th
St., Pompano.
Wed. Aug. 6th, 6:00-8:30pm at Herb Skolnick Center, 800 SW 36 Ave.,
Palm-Aire, Pompano.
Thur. Aug. 7th, 6:00-8:00pm at E. Pat Larkins Center, 520 W Martin
Luther King Blvd., Pompano.
